What inspired you to start your beauty business 10 years ago?

I have always loved beauty and transformation, and making people feel confident and radiant brings me joy. What inspired me most was seeing how a hairstyle or makeup look could completely change how someone feels about themselves, especially my brides. That feeling drives me every day.

What was the vision you had in mind when you first opened your doors?

When I opened my first little boutique in Dania Beach in 2013, my vision was to create a cozy, welcoming space where people could relax and walk out feeling like the best version of themselves. I wanted clients to feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for!

Can you recall the very first moment you felt, “This is really happening”?

That moment came during my first bridal season. I remember standing in my little studio surrounded by makeup kits, hair tools, and beautiful brides, and realizing this dream was real. I was building something from love and artistry.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in the early years, and how did you overcome them?

In 2013 and 2014, I was learning everything at once: how to manage bookings, market myself, and balance life and business. It was overwhelming, but I stayed focused, kept learning, and built relationships with loyal clients who helped spread the word. Over time, I learned that consistency and care build longevity.

Was there ever a moment you thought about giving up? If so, what kept you going?

In 2020, when everything shut down, I truly felt like giving up. I was scared because no one knew what was next, but that moment actually made me stop, refocus, and rebrand myself. I took that time to rebuild my business from the inside out, update my systems, and reconnect with why I started in the first place. That shift helped me come back stronger than ever.

What has been the toughest lesson you’ve learned as a business owner?

That not everyone will value your time and talent the same way you do, and that is okay learning to set boundaries and charge what I am worth has been one of the hardest but most empowering lessons.

How has your business — and your personal definition of success — evolved over the past decade?

At first, success meant staying busy and booked. Now it is about balance, being selective with projects, nurturing long-term relationships, and maintaining joy in what I do. Peace and fulfillment matter as much as profit.

What turning points or breakthroughs made the biggest difference in your journey?

Moving into my second Dania Beach location in 2020 was a major turning point. It gave me room to grow, expand my bridal business, and refine my brand. Another breakthrough came when I started using PocketSuite 10 years ago. It changed how I managed appointments, invoicing, and communication. It kept me organized and helped me stay professional as I grew my team and clientele.

How have you grown personally as a leader, creator, or entrepreneur?

I have grown into someone who trusts her instincts. I used to doubt myself, but now I know the value I bring. I have become more confident in leading a team, creating systems, and mentoring other artists, and PocketSuite helped me learn how to stay consistent and build structure around creativity.

What are you most proud of after 10 years in business?

I am proud of my reputation and the progress I have made. Most of my clients come through word of mouth, and that means everything. PocketSuite has been a part of that journey, helping me provide a smooth and professional experience for every client.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their beauty business today?

Be patient with your growth, build relationships, treat people kindly, and never stop learning. Stay consistent, even when it is slow, and use tools like PocketSuite to help you stay organized. From day one, your energy and attitude are part of your brand.

Looking back, what part of your journey feels most like a “hero’s moment”?

My main hero moment is knowing that I can make people feel special and confident using my talent. It is such a blessing to do what I love and share that energy with others. I am genuinely grateful that after all these years, I am still standing, still growing, and still making people feel beautiful every day.
